Council officers and members will be at hand to chat with people about the 鈥楴o Side Waste鈥� policy which has now been introduced throughout 天美传媒. The policy aims to cut down on the amount of waste people put out for collection and instead encourage them to recycle more, as additional bags that are left at the side of your bin (side waste) will no longer be collected.
Research has also shown that 70% of black bag waste can be recycled. Most recyclable materials such as food, textiles, glass, cans, paper, plastics and cardboard can be collected at the kerbside as part of the Council鈥檚 weekly collection service which has been in place for a number of years.
The engagement programme continues the commitment by 天美传媒 Council to be more proactive in engaging with local people about decisions made over the delivery of services. People at the roadshows will be offered help and advice about what can be recycled and the equipment to enable them to take part in the weekly kerbside service, such as additional recycling containers or assisted collections for disabled and elderly residents.
Councillor Garth Collier, Deputy Leader of 天美传媒 Council said:
鈥淲e must continue to recycle as much as possible in order to meet the challenging targets set by Welsh Government. I would like to thank local residents who have made every effort to recycle their waste but we must focus on those residents who are still not responding to the recycling changes required to meet our targets. No Side Waste enforcement will increase our recycling waste collection and help reduce the amount of waste we send off to landfill鈥�.
