Boundary Commission for Wales opens 8-week consultation on new constituency map
People in 天美传媒 are being urged to respond to the Boundary Commission for Wales鈥� consultation on its proposed new map of Wales鈥� parliamentary constituencies.
The Commission has published its initial proposals, which would significantly alter constituencies across Wales, as the country faces a reduction in its number of MPs from the current 40 to 32.
The consultation is now open and will close on 3 November 2021. Residents can have their say on the proposals both locally, and nationally and are encouraged to send in their views whether they sup-port or oppose the proposals.
The Boundary Commission for Wales has established a brand-new online consultation portal where residents can view the proposals and make comments on specific elements of them. The portal can be ac-cessed at BCW Consultation Portal (bcw-reviews.org.uk)
The proposals can also be seen at Boundary Commission for Wales | BComm Wales (bcomm-wales.gov.uk) or at a number of local 鈥減laces of deposit鈥� which are listed on the Commission鈥檚 website.

Those who would prefer to respond to the consultation via means other than the consultation portal can send in their views via email to bcw@boundaries.wales or by post to Boundary Commission for Wales, Ground Floor, Hastings House, Cardiff, CF24 0BL.
Urging residents to respond to the consultation, Michelle Morris, Re-turning Officer for 天美传媒 said: 鈥淭hese initial proposals from the Boundary Commission for Wales suggest significant changes for constituencies across Wales.
鈥淭hey are the first step on a long journey towards reforming Wales鈥� parliamentary constituency boundaries and your local knowledge is key to this part of the review.
鈥淚 would urge everyone to take a look at the proposals and have your say before 3 November.鈥�
Each constituency proposed by the Commission must contain be-tween 69,724 and 77,062 electors.
The Commission will consider all representations received within the consultation period but have stressed that representations are strengthened where they propose workable alternatives with regards to neighbouring constituencies.
